Day 6 - Goodbye Vegas, Hello Orlando - our 36 hour day!

This morning we slept in, knowing we had a big day ahead of us had left us with a gloomy outlook - and to match this was also our first gloomy day, overcast with a heavy chance of rain. Here is a brief itinerary;

Wake up
Check Out
Wonder around Vegas until the afternoon
Flight from Vegas to LA at 7.30pm (1 hour flight)
Flight from LA to Orlando (4 hour flight back in time - leave LA at 11pm, get into Orlando at 7.30am with only four hours in the sky)

So basically, with the inability to find somewhere to rest our heads, today was going to be a huge day.

Regardless we set off to have brunch at "Serendipity", which according to Tanya you have to book the one in New York, but each time we had gone by this one it seemed less than half full. The entrance was at the back - that's why it looked less busy - we had a 45 minute wait, which Hungry Tanya was not too impressed with, but I insisted we wait and try the famous "Frozen Hot Chocolate".

Whilst we waited we were treated to a show, a homeless guy wondered into the shop, took a sausage off someones plate and walked out eating it - we didn't believe what had happened at first, but then he came back for another go! "Sausages must be good" I thought, the second time the homeless humpty was thwarted and security was in place.

The meal was one of the best we had the pleasure of eating, apart from our first meal at the Cheesecake Factory, it was delicious every bit of it. The FroHoCho was something else;

This is a single serving, we asked for an extra straw and could  barely get through it! Imagine a serving that is for two people!

 We walked around the hotels and casinos, we passed through the Bellagio who were having a floral display that represented Holland, a beautiful display in the heart of the hotel indeed
Isn's she a beautiful display? The flowers are pretty too!
 We walked outside to try and catch the fountain show, and were lucky enough to get the last one for the day before the wind picked up and they were cancelled.
 Then we went back to our hotel and had our gondola ride. This simple pleasure was one of the best times for the both of us, Tanya because she had missed out on doing it last time she was in Vegas, me because I love crazy opulence, like having a freaking Canal through the middle of your hotel with singing Gondoliers!
She didn't buy it, but I think she should have

The Happy Couple at the end of their Vegas leg.
 Before we boarded the shuttle to the Airport, Vegas shed a tear for us - it poured rain, probably 2 inches, which is a lot for a city that gets 6 inches annually - we were by now over Vegas, the crowds, the cigarette smoke, the fact that I had to sell a kidney to pay off the gambling debts, it was all too much for us small towners!

Seriously though we were glad to be moving on, but sad to be leaving such an amazing place. Vegas truly is in it's own world.
